What will be my destination?
If we told you, it would ruin the surprise. And that’s the whole point, isnt’t it? Believe us, it is much more exciting if you don’t know.
When can I book my surprise journey?
Basically any time you want. However, please keep in mind that we need some time to plan and book a perfect vacation for you. Because of this, booking is possible for minimum of 3 weeks prior to departure (e.g. you want to travel on May, 4th; you need to book your trip latest by April, 13th.).
How long will my surprise journey be?
All Surprise Journeys are 3 days/2 nights long.
Example: You can have departure on Friday and you would come back on Sunday. If you decide to start your trip on Monday, you will return on Wednesday.
Also, we try to have you at your surprise destination as long as possible, so if you have any time restrictions, please add them in the Questionnaire (e.g. You can’t leave before noon).
What should I pack?
Packing for your Surprise Journey will be really easy. Approximately one week before your departure you will receive a Travel Box containing one envelope that says “Hints”. In it you will have information about weather forecast at your surprise destination and some other suggestions on what you should pack (e.g. do you need glasses and swimsuit or gloves and winter jacket).
Please don’t over pack. Since there is a possibility that you will travel with a plane, we need to include limitations of one personal bag and one carry-on bag per person.
Does the budget include activities or food at the destination?
No, it does not. The budget includes transportation, accommodation and travel insurance. However, we will send you suggested travel itinerary which will help you choose the things you want to do at the destination.
Can I check-in my bag?
You can do this at the airport. Many airline companies don’t allow us to pay this feature in advance so, to avoid complications, this is not part of our travel packages. You can always check-in your bags personally once you arrive at the airport. Please have in mind that you will need to pay the fees.
Does it matter which days of the week I choose?
No, you can choose whichever days fit your schedule. The only thing that you need to have in mind that all of the trips are 3 days/2 nights.
Is it possible to have a surprise journey longer than 3 days/2 nights?
It is possible, but you will have to send us an e-mail requesting customized Surprise Journey. Have in mind that the prices will be different than the packages offered on our website.
What is the difference between surprise journeys packages?
Difference between our packages is primarily your budget which then determines where we send you, what will be you accommodation and with what type of transportation will you be traveling. The things you need to consider when choosing between packages is your travel dates (holiday weekends are always more expensive for traveling) and your departure location. If there are not many flights or buses from your departure location we recommend that you choose a higher priced package.
What if I don't want to go to the location you sent me to?
We do our best to avoid this from happening. That is why we have a question in our Questionnaire where you can list all the locations that you, for any reason, don’t want to visit. Please make sure to answer this question carefully.
What should I do if complications occur with accommodation/ transportation?
Don’t worry, we will do everything we can to fix it. Just give us a call or send us an e-mail. During your surprise journey, our team will be available to you 24/7 via phone or e-mail.
What if my travel box gets lost in the mail/ arrives late?
No need to worry. We will send you everything you need to the e-mail address you provided in the Questionnaire. Travel goodies that come in the travel box are great and useful, but they are not necessary for your surprise journey.
How does the payment work?
At the end of our Questionnaire you will be asked to pay via PayPal. When you click Proceed to PayPal you will be redirected to PayPal where you will finish your payment.
Can I pay directly on your web site?
Currently, all the payments are processed via PayPal.
Can my travel buddies pay separately?
Unfortunately, we are not able to do this at this time. Payment for one surprise journey, no matter how many travellers, is on one invoice and this is why separate payments are not possible.
Do you offer travel insurance?
Better safe than sorry! We want to make sure you are safe and can relax without worrying. This is why travel insurance is included in all of our packages.
Where can I travel from with Surprise Journeys?
Currently, we offer trips to travelers from Europe. Due to the length of our trips, our expertise and various countries’ travel regulations, we only operate in European countries. This means that all our travelers need to be residents of a European country and their Surprise Journey will be within Europe.
Is surprise journeys kid-friendly?
Of course! When you fill out your Questionnaire you will see that there are questions where you can mark “family” as your preference. Also, there is a question asking if there are any kinds going on the Surprise Journeys. Based on your answers we will curate a Surprise Journey suitable for your little ones.
How long are the gift cards valid?
The gift cards you purchase on our web-site are valid for one year. After this the gift card will expire.
Can I get a refund for a gift card I purchased/received?
Unfortunately, no. Gift cards are non-refundable.
